READING CAN MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL

Reading can enhance your life. Studies show that the most successful people are the ones who read. We can learn a lot by picking up a magazine, a book, or a newspaper. I think it's great to be able to talk to others about what you read, too. Reading promotes conversation, intelligence, and knowledge. So, what are you waiting for?

I think everyone has a story to tell, and we should. For many years, I got away from writing fiction, but I have had a great time writing my first novel as an adult. Changing real-life situations into fiction helps heal the heart.

What can I say about Life? Mine has been tough at times, but I'm grateful that God has given me mercy, grace, and love. I love my life and the family I've been blessed with.

Start Reading!

I have to confess... I love to read, and I am a book-a-holic. I love books and magazines! If I have extra time, I read. If I have extra money, I look for new books. If I'm standing in the line to check out at the store, I read every cover (that looks interesting) on the magazines in the rack.

I consider being able to read a huge blessing. I know that I was able to read at a young age, and I remember my mom buying me books from Scholastic when I was in elementary school. Pippi Longstocking, The Trumpet of the Swan, Charlotte's Web... just to name a few. And when I had kids of my own, I bought them books from the same place. And I bought them some of the same books. It's really been great!

There have been several books which have made an impact on me as an adult. I am going to be talking about those books here on my blog. I hope reading about them makes you want to read them!

Scholastic Books

Some of the best books I ever read were published by Scholastic. I still remember getting the paper ads at school, and sometimes, we were able to order from them. I received my first copy of Charlotte's Web, The Trumpet of the Swan, and The Mouse and the Motorcycle. Oh, the memories!

When my oldest son was in elementary school, I started buying Scholastic books for my kids. Between all seven of us, we've probably read every single book we have. Now, I can't bear to part with them because they mean something to me. They are packed away and awaiting the day when I bring them out again to encourage another generation of kids to love reading... like my grandchildren.

If you can read, it will dramatically increase your productivity in life. It will help you in ways that you can only imagine. So, why don't you pick up a book and get to it!
